Seminar on Risk Management in Aviation Security: Enhancing Quality and Sharing Experience

The State Civil Aviation Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, with the support of the Kyrgyz Aviation Institute named after I. Abdraimov, conducted a practical seminar on risk assessment and risk management in the field of aviation security for managers and specialists of airports, airlines, aviation fuel supply organizations, air navigation services, and ground handling.

The main objectives of the event were:

  • acquiring knowledge of the fundamental principles of risk management;

  • understanding the relationship between threats and risks;

  • ability to identify sources of risk and sources of information;

  • understanding the approach to proactive risk assessment;

  • ability to identify and define plausible scenarios;

  • ability to analyze criticality and vulnerability;

  • ability to analyze risks based on probability and consequences;

  • knowledge of the correct application of risk assessment criteria;

  • skills in developing and updating the Threat Register, etc.

During the event, participants exchanged experiences and best practices in risk assessment in the field of aviation security. This seminar aimed at improving the quality and effectiveness of processes and procedures designed to prevent acts of unlawful interference in civil aviation activities. 

Holding this seminar is an important step in the development of the aviation security system of Kyrgyzstan. The knowledge and practical skills acquired will help specialists effectively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring a high level of protection of civil aviation. The State Civil Aviation Agency will continue its efforts to strengthen the national aviation system in line with ICAO international standards.
