Prospects for the Development of Direct Air Services Between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People’s Republic of China were Discussed

A working meeting was held with the participation of representatives of the State Civil Aviation Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, airline representatives, as well as members of the Chinese delegation, including representatives of Chengdu Airlines and the COMAC Marketing Center. The meeting was dedicated to issues related to the development of direct passenger and cargo air services between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People’s Republic of China.

During the meeting, prospects for launching regular flights were reviewed, a preliminary analysis of the air transportation market was conducted, and possible models of cooperation were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the assessment of passenger traffic, the transit potential of Manas International Airport, as well as prospects for the development of air cargo transportation.

The Osh–Kashgar route was considered separately and identified as a regional destination of significant socio-economic importance, contributing to the development of trade, tourism, and the strengthening of transport connectivity between the southern regions of the Kyrgyz Republic and the western regions of the People’s Republic of China.

It was also noted that the opening of a new air point in the Naryn region and the bordering areas of the People’s Republic of China would create conditions for optimizing flight routes. The use of this air corridor would enhance flight safety, reduce route length, and shorten travel time, thereby providing additional operational efficiency for airline services.

In addition, the Chinese side presented opportunities for using regionally produced Chinese aircraft to operate flights on China–Kyrgyzstan routes. The discussion also covered issues related to aircraft certification, compliance with international aviation safety standards, training of aviation personnel, and the organization of maintenance services.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in developing long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation and agreed to continue joint efforts to further elaborate on the initiatives discussed.
