On March 5, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, received Johan Pelissier, President of Airbus Europe, and Maurice Prendergast, Senior Vice President of BBAM Leasing.

The parties discussed the expansion of Kyrgyzstan’s aircraft fleet through the acquisition of new airliners and the development of cooperation in the field of civil aviation. The agreement signed with Airbus Europe will make an important contribution to improving the reliability of air transportation, expanding flight routes, and providing passengers with comfortable travel conditions.

It is important to note that, for the first time in Kyrgyzstan, Asman Airlines is introducing a business class service for its passengers.

The President emphasized that the country is actively modernizing the aviation sector: whereas previously only four airports operated fully, today all 11 airports are functioning, and the Jalal-Abad International Airport is currently under construction.

Johan Pelissier noted the progress Kyrgyzstan has made in developing its aviation industry and expressed readiness to expand long-term cooperation. Maurice Prendergast added that the new aircraft meet international standards, and that company specialists will assist Kyrgyz partners in mastering the technical systems of the new aircraft.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness for further mutually beneficial cooperation.
