The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic, led by Daniyar Bostonov, Director of the State Civil Aviation Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, continues its active participation in the 42nd Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), taking place in Montreal.
A meeting was held with U.S. Secretary of Transportation Mr. Sean Duffy, during which issues of bilateral cooperation in civil aviation were discussed, including prospects for collaboration in aviation safety, flight safety, the development of air connectivity, and the exchange of regulatory best practices.
Another meeting took place with Ms. Jennifer Homendy, Chair of the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), where discussions focused on cooperation in aviation accident investigation and the application of international best practices in transport safety.
In addition, a number of other high-level bilateral meetings were held during the event.
With Mr. Mohammed Faleh Al-Hajri, Director of Civil Aviation of the State of Qatar, discussions focused on expanding cooperation, particularly in the training of aviation personnel, the development of air services between Bishkek and Doha, and the potential for joint educational programs.
Talks with Mr. Nasser bin Saeed Al-Abri, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Sultanate of Oman, addressed strengthening partnerships in flight safety, exchanging experience in the implementation of ICAO international standards, and expanding route networks.
A separate meeting was held with Ms. Aichatou Soumaila, Secretary General of the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), during which prospects for cooperation within ICAO’s global initiatives and enhancing interregional collaboration were discussed.
Furthermore, negotiations were held with ICAO Council President Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano and ICAO Secretary General Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar. The main focus was on enhancing flight safety, harmonizing national legislation with international standards, and deepening the Kyrgyz Republic’s integration into global aviation processes.
The participation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the ICAO Assembly is an important step towards strengthening international cooperation, promoting national interests in the field of civil aviation, and further developing the country’s transport potential.
