Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan strengthen cooperation in the field of aviation security

As part of the implementation of mutual cooperation of the Coordination Group on Aviation Security of the Countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus, operating since 2022, as well as in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between the aviation authorities of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic, a number of working meetings with experts were held at the site of JSC Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan from November 11 to 15, 2024 on Aviation Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.

 

The purpose of the meetings was to discuss Kazakhstan's preparation for the ICAO aviation security audit scheduled for 2025. Kyrgyz experts - Advisor to the Director of Aviation Security of the State Agency for Civil Aviation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Rustamov Sh. and the head of the Aviation Security Department, M. Kashkariev, shared their experience and practices related to all aspects of preparing for the ICAO aviation security audit, including the continuous monitoring mechanism of the ICAO Universal Verification Program.

 

Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in the field of aviation security is a vivid example of regional integration and demonstrates the commitment of the two countries to improve aviation security in accordance with international standards. The results of the joint work contributes to both countries not only successfully passing the ICAO audit, but also following the policy of cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Civil Aviation Conference (EACAC), contributing to the further development of a safe and efficient civil aviation system in the region.
